STEEZY — privacy notice

What the game does with what you give it, in plain language.

The leaderboard is public

The name you type on the start screen and the runs you set (time, top speed, biggest air, cheddar earned, and similar records) are posted to Sugarpine's global leaderboards, where anyone can see them next to your chosen name. Don't use your real name if you'd rather it not be public. Contact us if you'd like a run or a name removed.

Owning a mansion on Millionaires Row publishes your player name, shown above the house to everyone, and stores it on our server together with an anonymous ID generated by your browser.

Names that are rude, or that pretend to be the game or its staff, are shown as "someone" instead.

Sugarpine Memories: your trick pictures are public

When you land something worth remembering (a personal best, a big combo or run score, or a trick that earns a title), the game keeps one small picture of that moment and sends it to our server. It is a 480x270 screenshot of the game itself, never a camera photo of you. Each picture is stored with:

The picture and your name are shown to everyone who plays, on the Sugarpine Memories board and the Sugarpine Cinema screen in the village. The anonymous ID is never shown.

How long it's kept: the board holds the 9 newest pictures and the cinema the 6 best. A picture is deleted from our server as soon as it drops off both, which on a busy mountain is within hours or days. A picture that makes the cinema's best six can stay until six better ones replace it, or until it's removed on request.

Removing a picture: write to the address under "Questions or requests" below with the name it was taken under and roughly when, and we'll take it down. You don't need to give a reason.

Playing with others: one shared mountain

Everyone rides the same mountain. While the game is open it keeps one connection to STEEZY's own game server, which runs on Cloudflare, and that server passes each player's movements on to the other players nearby. That means:

Anonymous crash reports

The game is adding automatic crash reporting. When it sends a report, it includes the error message, a stack trace, the game version, and your browser's user-agent string — nothing that identifies you personally, and no gameplay data beyond what's needed to reproduce the crash.

Anonymous performance reports

So we can fix loading and speed problems, each session also sends one short report: whether the game started, how long it took to load, its frame rate over the first seconds, whether the page froze and during which loading step, and your hardware class (graphics adapter vendor and type, approximate memory, CPU core count, screen size and pixel density, and the graphics setting chosen), with your browser's user-agent string. It contains no name, account or location, and it is kept in a short rolling list that is regularly overwritten.

What stays on your device

Your settings, key bindings, chosen name, and personal-best records are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only. We don't receive or see any of it unless it's one of the things listed above (your leaderboard entry, a Sugarpine Memories picture, or a crash report).

Questions or requests

This is a small, independent beta. If you have a question, want a leaderboard entry or a Sugarpine Memories picture removed, or want to flag something that looks wrong above, write to steezy.devs@gmail.com (a placeholder address until we've confirmed our support inbox).
